PROMETA - Protección del Medioambiente Tarija has been developing an extensive program for the creation of Municipal Protected Areas in Bolivia, with the support of the Andes Amazon Fund - AAF. This program feeds into other complementary programs, including the development of local financial mechanisms aimed at the sustainability of protected areas, the strengthening of local organizations linked to conservation, and the development of Other Effective Conservation Mechanisms - OMEC.
